How do I access Manupatra on mobile?
If you are a Manupatra subscriber, to get started, simply type www.manupatra.com or m.manupatra.com into your handheld device's browser and enter your Manupatra Sign in and Password. Device detection automatically launches mobile version. Please do enable javascript in case if it is not enabled on your mobile browser.


Does my Manupatra Sign In and Password work on Manupatra mobile ?
Yes your existing Sign in and Password of www.manupatra.com will work on the mobile interface.


Do I need to download anything to access Manupatra on mobile?
There is nothing to download. No separate mobile subscription required.

You do not have to pay anything extra. Manupatra subscribers get access from their current unique Sign in at no extra cost.


Can I access Manupatra online and Manupatra mobile simultaneously?
Each unique sign in can be used either on manupatra online or on manupatra mobile at any given point of time. Sign in will not work simultaneously.


How do I Sign Off ?
Please click on Sign off button appearing in the top bar of the screen. If you do not Sign Off the session for your sign in will show in process and you will not be able to access manupatra database alternate device.

Yes, your Manupatra Mobile account and Manupatra online account are synced. So your trail from Manupatra Mobile will be available when you login in to Manupatra online – and vice versa.


Searching for Cases

How do I search for a case if I have a citation?
On the homepage, click the Search Case Law button and then click on the citation search. Now type/select the volume number, publisher abbreviation, input first page number of the case into the search box at the top of the screen. The two fields mandatory for citation search are Publisher and Year, this helps you to browse the cases even if you don't remember the exact citation. Example: To pull up Utpal Das and Anr. v. State of West Bengal 07.05.2010, you would type in: AIR as publisher: 2010 as year : SC as court : 2010 as year in the given boxes.

How do I search for a case using a phrase or keywords?
On the homepage, click the Search Case Law button and click on the Manu/Title search and then type in your search query. Manu Search is a free text/ boolean search , whereas Title search only searches on the name of the appellant and respondent.

Searching/Browsing for Bare Act

How do I locate a Bare Act section by phrase or keyword?
Follow these steps to locate a Bare Act by keyword:

  1. On the main menu page click the Search Bare Act button.
  2. If you wish to search within a particular act, enter the word/ phrase query in the query box, choose the act from the list by clicking on "Select an Act"
  3. Or you can search in all acts by only entering the word/ phrase query in the query box to get search results.


How do I browse a Bare Acts?
Follow these steps to browse Bare Acts:

  1. On the main menu page click the Browse Bare Act button.
  2. Select Central/ State Name from the list depending on what you wish to browse.
  3. Clicking on Central / State Name lists the Alphabetical listing of Acts with acts beginning with 'A' as default view. You may click on another alphabet as per your requirement.

Search History

How do I access my recent searches?
Click the History icon in the top bar of the screen. This will bring you to the Recent Searches window where your recent searches are displayed. Just click the one you want to view and the Manupatra Mobile will automatically re-run the search for you.


How many recent searches does Manupatra save?
By default, the Manupatra Mobile will store your last 20 searches.


Saved Documents

Can I save Case Law in Manupatra folders?
You can save documents, whether they are Judgments or Acts. Just click the Save button in the top bar of the screen. This will bring you to My Folders where the documents are saved.

How do I access my saved documents?
Once you log in, click the Folders icon in the top bar. This will bring you to My Folder. Click on the My Folder Icon to fetch the saved documents. Just click the one you want and the Manupatra Mobile will automatically pull up the document for you.


How many documents can I save?
By default, the Manupatra Mobile will allow you to save 20 documents. However you can delete any saved document using Delete button next to the document title. Save using the save icon appearing in the top bar.


Printing and E-Mail
Currently printing is not allowed from this interface however the e-mail can be sent.
